First off, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, and Happy Quanza! All of us at the 'Two Masters Wine Club' hope you celebrated your holiday with family, friends and - of course - many, many bottles of luscious, scrumptious Two Masters wine! Tis the season, right? So enjoy!
OK, back to my original question. When is a 'bottle of wine' not a bottle of wine? Yep, it's a trick question. The answer is: When the single bottle in question holds an entire case of wine! Yep, I'm talking about a SALMANAZAR!
Christmas day we had 18 guests for the afternoon and dinner. Wine was a must...so we cracked open this lovely gem:
A 30 year old Beringer Cab. 9 liters of it. I've had this Salmanazar for a while and felt this was the perfect occasion to share it with my family and friends. Trust me: This made a fun occasion even that much more enjoyable. All our guests signed the bottle and now we have a brillant keep-sake for Christmas 2012!
Hmmm...doesn't look that big you say? Looks like a 'regular' bottle of wine? Well, perhaps this will lend some perspective:
Rest assured, this bottle was BIG. Everyone asks: "How do you pour a bottle this big?" The answer: Very carefully! OK, jokes aside, I poured the wine - very carefully - into three carafes, and we poured individuall glasses from there.
Fun times!
We wish you and yours a very happy holiday season, and a safe and Happy New Year celebration! See you in 2013!
