Last week I was in Napa twice.
First, to join winery owners John and Laura Bremer for their long awaited cave opening. Then, again on Friday, to once again scour the valley for a few new, great wines for our club members. Both were a huge success!
The Bremer Family Winery caves are amazing. Almost 17,000 square feet in size, they now will house their wine barrels, bottling line, finished wine storage needs, shipping center, etc. Hosting about 70 winery guests in the old stone barn, John and Laura celebrated their almost 5-year excavation and construction project with a flourish! (That's John and Laura at the top of the picture.)
Five days later Don Steiner and I - along with Two Masters Club Members Sean Solomon and Bruce Molnar - were back in Napa once again. This time to locate a few, new, great wines for our Platinum members! And we sure hit the mark!
Our first stop was Seavey, far off the valley floor up Old Howell Mountain Road. Alex Kajani (on the left in the photo below), the Marketing Director, greeted us with a smile and a glass of Cab. My kind of guy! As you can see, the sky was blue, the wine red, and the day very, very enjoyable!
Later, Bruce (on the right) told me he was in Napa/Sonoma the day before - for one day - on a business trip. Up Thursday morning, back that night. And the same on Friday. And I thought I the traveling man!
