Notes from the Winemaker: We are very excited about our first wine vintage. 2006 ended up being a fantastic season for our inaugural wine.
The year began with some flooding in the valley with continuing rain into the spring. As a result, bud break came late. Summer began nice and mild until July, when a heat wave shut down the vines temporarily. Cool weather returned in August and remained until September. Some rain fell in the first week of October which had us standing a bit on edge, but ended up not being much of an issue. The rest of October remained perfect, allowing our grapes to develop until finally being harvested on October 30th.
