The primary aromatic themes are of Fuji apples, pear skins, tarte tatin and citric zest, and these find a truly genteel partnership with less grandiloquent scents of vanilla cream wafers and coconut custard. As expected, the wine is luxuriously palate-coating, and it builds apple, pear, toasted nut, custard, nutmeg and citron flavors into an irresistible and lingering cascade. Enormously satisfying now, it may yet grow more enticing with a bit of cellar time if its obvious current appeal can be ignored. 7 barrels produced
