Scarlett Cab Sauv 2009

Notes from the Winemaker: What a year 2009 was for creating classically styled Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon. This cool and extended growing season created a wine that is rich and also carries a belly of fresh fruit and tannin. Immediately noticeable is the dark color which reaches to the edge of the glass and then seemingly sticks to it with its massive viscosity. Aromas of dark red fruits, cedar wood, star anise and baking spices greet the senses and the palate is a rush of chocolaty nuances smothered in perfectly ripened Cabernet Sauvignon fruit and firm tannins. Massively scaled for a Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon, a long decant is recommended for consumption in the short term.
