Notes from the Winemaker: Inaugural Vintage... A blend of 100% cabernet sauvignon from all ten vineyard blocks from the Cimarossa estate, this wine represents the best that Howell Mountain has to offer. Elevation ranges from 1600-2100 feet; several soil types; sun exposures from the east, west and north. The wine was aged for 22 months in French Oak barrels, 35% of which were new.
This wine is a beautiful deep ruby color. The nose is an explosion of blackberry & blueberry fruits with some spiciness - cinnamon & cardamom and a hint of some sandalwood. There are subtle floral notes as well. The initial impact is strong filling your mouth with bright cherry and pomegranate fruits finishing with a touch of white pepper. Silky, bright tannins round out a vibrant & firm finish.
