Cafaro Cab 2008

Notes from the Winemaker: As the Cafaro Family Vineyard matures it is showing the intensity and layered flavors that produce great Napa Valley reds. With complete control over leaf canopy, crop load, watering and harvesting, we have an ideal mixture of tools to make wines of uncompromising finesse and natural balance. The 2008 vintage was influenced by a growing season that included spring heat that resulted in a slightly earlier bloom. Continuing into an ideal August, with Napa’s signature hot days and cool nights, the weather contributed to an outstanding harvest of ripe and flavorful grapes. There was a short cool period in September that stopped harvest for a week. The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon is made seeking to marry complexity with balance to produce a wine that is rich, lush and concentrated. Most importantly, this Cabernet Sauvignon pairs incredibly well with food. Two years of bottle aging insures that this wine is ready to drink now, or can certainly be cellared and enjoyed for many years.
