DuMOL Estate Chard 2010

Notes from the Winemaker: Our 2010 RRV Chardonnay is a true product of the vintage rather than defined by winemaking techniques; it was grown rather than ‘made’ and you can taste this in its lovely balance between fruit, acidity and texture. It’s a very harmonious wine. There is a vein of intense mineral sharpness that runs through the wine that is its defining feature. Naturally there is still plenty of Russian River fruit richness, but it has been shaped by this beautifully cool growing season to emphasize lingering vibrancy throughout the wine. Hand harvested grapes sorted in the vineyard then whole cluster pressed. Barrel fermented with native yeasts and native malolactic fermentation and aged for 15 months in 40% new French oak.
