Notes from the Winemaker: Dark garnet hues immediately make this wine appealing with aromas of black fruit, graham, anise and vanilla bean that take over the senses. While the mid palate of this wine resembles the 2008 with its silkiness, the dusty tannin structure is mild and plush bringing this wine together on all levels. The beautifully long and signature 'Mike Smith finish' make this wine a stand out above the rest. A short decant will benefit this wine should you decide to open it within a year, look for it to hit its stride in 4-8 years.
