Notes from the Winemaker: A brilliant effort from the acclaimed Hudson Vineyard. This site perfectly combines power without the ponderness nature of the best of the Golden State. A stony mineral profile emerges from the nose with slightly reductive notes of apple, toast, and grilled nuts. Very intense entry on the palate with mouth-watering racy fruit. Creamy yet light. Grilled almonds, baked apples, and lemon zest are all here in spades yet framed so wonderfully with the vibrant acid. There is nothing overblown here for a wine of this richness. This is perhaps the best “Hudson” Chardonnay that I remember.
