Notes from the Winemaker: What a vineyard Las Madres has become as it enters is 8th leaf. Once again its cool roots are embedded into the core of this wine. Fluorescent purple hues greet the eye combined with a nose that can be only described as effusive. Violets, orange peel, plums and a meaty undertone on the nose. Once in the mouth, a rush of savory flavors coat the mouth and are perfectly framed by ample natural acidity. The finish is loaded with the elements above and is sweetened with just the right amount of oak from one new Remond Allier barrel. This wine is released with 15 months of bottle age, putting it right into the drinking wheelhouse upon receipt. Like previous vintages look for this wine to age for up to 5 years from release.
